Research field:
The subatomic physics group carries major responsibility for several large experiments at CERN-ISOLDE in Geneva and GSI in Darmstadt and is deeply involved in preparing an extensive programme at FAIR. The research covers studies of very exotic nuclear systems motivated by intriguing questions in nuclear structure and astrophysics research. It also comprises development of techniques for radioactive beam handling, design and construction of advanced experimental equipment and development of advanced detection and data analysis techniques. It is expected that the candidate will participate in and contribute to this activity while preparing the exploitation of future scientific opportunities at HIE-ISOLDE and in particular FAIR-R3B, where an intense R&D programme going on. Our main desire is to find a creative person with a strong research potential and a driving force to strengthen the scientific programme also in nuclear astrophysics.

Job description
The post is a full time tenure appointment which includes teaching at all levels, from undergraduate to postgraduate. It also includes supervision of PhD students and conducting research. Administrative and management duties are also normally included.

The applicant should be able to collaborate with industrial, academic and governmental partners and also be capable of successfully applying for external grants for the research. Your own research and the PhD students are financed primarily with external grants.

Qualifications
To be qualified, the applicant must have a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field and documented pedagogical experience. There is a formal requirement of a course in pedagogy for higher education which however can be supplemented after being appointed. English is our working language for research. Both Swedish and English are used in undergraduate courses, while graduate courses are taught in English. The applicant is recommended to learn Swedish within a few years.

To be appointed Associate Professor, the applicant must be qualified for the Swedish docent level (in Swedish "oavlönad docent"). If the applicant has not yet reached that qualification level, the position is designated Senior Lecture, in which case the applicant is expected to qualify as "oavlönad docent" within a few years and then promoted to Associate Professor.

Good social competence and talent to create a stimulating environment for teaching and research for both women and men is of great importance.

4.Complete list of publications
5.Plans for future work, both scientific and educational, if appointed
6.Two reference persons who can be contacted by Chalmers (describe association with them and give their contact addresses)
7.Copies of the applicant's best scientific publications (not more than 10)
8.Copies of a maximum of 10 other publications (such as pedagogy, and popular science) in support of pedagogical and other merits
